You are receiving this email as we have identified you as someone who will be able to share information with organisations and groups who may be interested in applying to The People’s Projects which launched on 5 September 2022.
The
National Lottery Community Fund has again teamed up with The National Lottery,
ITV, UTV and this year the Sunday Mail to give community organisations the
chance to apply for up to £70,000 of National Lottery funding.
We’re interested in project ideas that meet one or more of the following priorities
- bring people together and build strong relationships in and across communities
- make communities stronger and more inclusive
- help people or communities develop the skills and capacity they need to achieve their ambitions
- involve the people you support in the design, development and delivery of your project
- support people to create meaningful change in their local community or help it thrive
- help people and communities connect by engaging with nature
- build connections across different cultures, different communities, or both.
After a national campaign the winners will be decided by public vote, giving the public a say in how National Lottery money is spent. The campaign will run in May and June 2023. We expect winners and runners up to be ready to start their grants from July 2023 and they will have up to 12 months to spend the money.
We’re looking for imaginative ideas from organisations that have already done good work in their local community. We’ll prioritise applications from smaller organisations with a turnover of £500,000 or less. But whatever the size of the organisation it is important that they have a strong local presence and a track-record of working in the local area.
At the end
of the public vote we’ll award grants of up to £70,000 to 57 winners across the
UK. We will also offer up to 38 runner-up organisations discretionary awards of
up to £10,000.
We are expecting to receive more applications than we are able to fund, and we have adapted our approach to make sure there is a fair spread of applications, and winners, form across the UK. This means that we can only accept a certain number of applications from each part of the UK. We will close to applications on Friday 7 October 2022, or earlier if we reach our limit for applications before this date.
This is an exciting opportunity which will take time and dedication over several months to capture the public’s imagination and win votes.
