Saturday & Sunday 12th & 13th September 2015 Venue: NEWPORT     Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a 2 day workshop that offers intensive training for front-line workers and community members.

Introductory cost of £50.00   This course is suitable for...   The emphasis is on teaching suicide first-aid to help a person at risk stay safe and seek further help as needed.  ASIST provides practical training for caregivers seeking to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.    Participants often include:   ·         people concerned about family and friends ·         natural helpers and advisers ·         emergency service workers ·         counsellors, teachers and ministers ·         ISVA's, IDVA's, crisis Workers, mental health practitioners ·         workers in health, welfare and justice ·         community volunteers. This is a great opportunity for staff to attend this course at a reduced rate as other training providers will usually charge between £150.00 and £200.00 per person.
