Let NEWID know about your relationship with technology to help develop new approaches

 The COVID pandemic has transformed everyone’s relationship with digital, whether that is how you interact with colleagues or deliver services. With digital having a wide-ranging role within the work we undertake, it is vital that Third Sector organisations in Wales have access to information and support to help make judgements around how digital can complement the range of activities being undertaken. The Third Sector in Wales is made up of more than 49.000 diverse Organisations, Charities, Social Enterprises and Community groups. We are calling out for 500 organisations across Wales to let us know more about your relationship with technology. This information will enable NEWID to develop approaches that support the Third Sector in Wales to use digital to compliment, improve and even transform their services.

 This is the first time that a digital baseline assessment has been undertaking in Wales. We are appealing to those that work in the Third Sector in Wales to undertake two actions:

 1. Fill out the survey (on-behalf of the Organisation you work for)

2. Share the link to the survey to a Third Sector contact that works for another organisation.

Ask Me - Raise Awareness about violence against women

 The Ask Me Scheme  has recently rolled out in Bridgend; Merthyr Tydfil; RCT; Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Cardiff and the Vale.

 Ask Me is Welsh Women’s Aid’s free scheme for people who want to raise awareness about violence against women, share information about domestic abuse and sexual violence in their communities as well as know how to give the right response to survivors. To join you need to be 18 or over, live in a funded area and successfully complete our “Welcome to Ask me” course”. After joining Ask Me, we’ll help you in your activism by giving you resources you can share with others, telling you about events and campaigns you can take part in as well as helping you to connect with other community activists in your area. New Weight Management Course starts Thursday 10th Feb

 

 

We are reaching out to the community to inform them of our new weight management ‘Foodwise for Life’ course that is starting Thursday 10^th February 2022 in Dowlais Community Centre at Station Rd, Dowlais CF48 3LW starting at 10:00am – 11:00am.

 The course is free and people can access the course on a ‘self-referral’ basis by contacting the Public Health Dietetic team – details are contained within the poster.  Interest must be registered initially with our team to ensure our attendee numbers are in line with COVID government regulations.

 We have spaces available currently, so please get in touch soon if you or anyone you know would be interested!

 Property advice charity the Ethical Property Foundation is launching the 2022 Charity Property Matters Survey asking organisations about their property experiences as they emerge from the pandemic. With our voluntary sector now facing serious challenges - policymakers, landlords, grant funders & social lenders must listen and understand the role property plays in our work.

 Please spend a few minutes filling it in TODAY – this is the only charity-led property research in the UK - run bi-annually since 2012.   

The Ethical Property Foundation provides free property learning and advice to charities, social enterprises, and community groups, as well as affordable consultancy.
