MSE Charity open to applications - building financial capability skills
MSE Charity is currently accepting applications to its ‘Building and Developing Resilience’ theme for projects focused on building financial capability skills.
It is assisting groups who support mental health, well-being, cooking well for less, training others, independent skills and peer mentoring.
Projects must commence from January 2019 onwards.
The maximum grant available is £7,500. The MSE Charity will consider full project cost recovery but does not cover the organisation's core funding.
Small to medium-sized non-profit organisations with a constitution can apply. This includes UK registered charities, community interest companies, social enterprises and credit unions. Applicants should have an annual income of less than £500,000 and have unrestricted reserves that are less than six months of their running costs.
The round is limited to the first 40 applications that are accepted or the deadline, whichever is soonest, so applicants are advised to apply as soon as possible.
The application deadline is 28 September 2018 (5pm).

Announcing….a
new round of Volunteering Wales Grants!
A new round of Volunteering Wales Grants is launching on 12 September, with opportunities for project funding of up to £20,000 for activity from 1 April 2019 - 31 March 2020.
Grants will be allocated to projects that can demonstrate that they are able to make a contribution to delivering the Welsh Government’s strategy, Prosperity for All, which describes a long-term aim to build a Wales that is prosperous and secure, healthy and active, ambitious and learning, and united and connected.
The strategy identifies five priority areas which have the potential to make the greatest contribution to long-term prosperity and well-being. These are early years, better mental health, housing, skills and employability and social care. They are areas where it has been shown that earlier intervention and more seamless services can make a real difference to people’s lives.
The Volunteering Wales Grants for 2019/20 will support volunteering projects that contribute towards achieving outcomes in one or more of the priority areas.
Information sessions will be taking place around Wales during October and November 2018 to promote the Volunteering Wales Grants. VAMT hope to host one in Merthyr Tydfil - or contact VAMT 01685 353900 enquiries@vamt.net

Volunteering
Wales Grants is a scheme funded by the Welsh Government to

people is encouraged and supported through this grant scheme and a
percentage of the funding available has been ring fenced to support projects
that exclusively recruit young volunteers aged 14 – 25.

Volunteers needed for Tenovus Cancer Care's Big Birthday Raffle
As part of our 75th birthday celebrations, we’ve gone back to our roots to honour the original ten businessmen who founded Tenovus Cancer Care all those years ago!
Back in the day our founders launched a simple raffle with the grand prize of car and we want to pay tribute to them with our Big Birthday Raffle. The lucky winner will drive away in a brand new MG3 Car! Second prize is a holiday at Watermark’s luxury lakeside lodges and third Prize are 5 chances to win a £50 John Lewis voucher.
And here’s where we need you! We’re looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to represent Tenovus Cancer Care within your local community by attending events from now until October and helping us to sell raffle tickets as well as raising awareness about the work we do – our 75th Birthday Champions. You can read all about the raffle on our website here and the volunteer role here.
The money we raise from this raffle will allow us to deliver more cancer treatments on board our Mobile Support Units to those who really need it. It means people can gain invaluable help through our support services. And it means we can carry out even more vital research into finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
