Recruitment to the Criminal Justice Board for Wales

Recruitment to the Criminal Justice Board for Wales

 Independent Oversight & Advisory Panel

CAN YOU HELP THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM IN WALES TO REDUCE RACIAL DISPARITY?

Can you constructively support and challenge the criminal justice system in Wales to implement its Anti-Racism commitments?

Criminal Justice in Wales now want to recruit 12 Panel members, including an independent Chair in paid roles to oversee their anti-racism work, to provide external scrutiny, and ensure progress is being made.

We would like to emphasise that the recruitment is open to those passionate for change, having experienced the system themselves.

Aspiring applicants will need to display the following:

  • A keen interest in Race equality
  • An understanding of the Criminal Justice System in Wales, including, for example, as a former professional in the system, through lived experience as a victim, offender or defendant, or as a family member of one of these.
  • The ability to question, challenge and make informed decisions

Criminal Justice in Wales would particularly like the panel to be made up of people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, including Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

Panel members will be paid an hourly rate for meeting attendance and the Chair will be paid a slightly higher rate to reflect additional duties.

Applications close midday on Tuesday 19th April 2022. For more information, please contact Judy@eyst.org.uk or go here to read more.
