Iceland is a member of Marcus Rashford’s Child Food Poverty Taskforce, and is working with the Food Foundation with the support of the Welsh Government’s Public Health team to further support families by promoting the Healthy Start Voucher scheme in its stores. Healthy Start provides low-income families with free vouchers every week to spend on milk, fresh, frozen, and tinned fruit and vegetables, fresh, dried, and tinned pulses, and infant formula milk. They can also get free vitamins. The scheme is available to pregnant women, or those with children under four, who may qualify if they are on benefits – and is provided to anyone who is pregnant and under 18. Details on the scheme and how to apply are here Healthy Start.
Iceland is offering a free £1 pack of frozen vegetables to
all families using Healthy Start Vouchers in stores, boosting the value of the
vouchers and providing access to nutritious food. Customers can choose from 25
varieties of frozen veg and can redeem the offer every time they use a Healthy
Start Voucher (current value £3.10) as long as they are used in separate
transactions. The offer will be available until 31st
March 2021 in all Iceland and The Food Warehouse stores in the
UK.
