Volunteer Officer

Opening Date:           15th January

Location:                    Cardiff or Merthyr Tydfil [flexible]

Salary:                        25 hrs per week

Contract type:           Permanent

 Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. There will be 850,000 people with dementia in the UK by 2015 with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025.

 The South East Wales Locality covers: Cardiff, The Vale, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil, as Volunteering Officer you will be responsible for promoting volunteering opportunities across the whole of the locality and supporting existing services to develop volunteer inclusion and champion best practice. 

We are looking for an individual who has experience of volunteering, working with volunteers and has a full understanding of the benefits volunteering inclusion brings to organisations, members of the public, communities and service users.

You will have an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers and be able to evidence your ability to manage, motivate and lead a team of volunteers.

This is an exciting opportunity to ensure that we reach more people with dementia and continue to develop innovative approaches to our service delivery.
