Universal Children's Day Vigil

INVITATION Yn Gymraeg Yma Universal Children's Day Vigil Thursday 20th November 2014 at 12.30pm Dedicated to Ending Legalised Violence against Children St John the Baptist City Parish Church, Cardiff Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the adoption of the  Convention on the  Rights of the Child You are warmly invited to join us for this Vigil which will promote respect for children, remember those who have suffered violence and highlight children's right to equal protection under the law. Universal Children's Day was established by the United Nations in 1954. For over 55 years governments have celebrated Universal Children's Day on the 20th November to promote the well-being of children. This date also marks the day on which the United Nations adopted the Declaration on the Rights of the Child (1959) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989).  'Sdim Curo Plant!/Children are Unbeatable! Cymru seeks the prohibition of all physical punishment of children in Wales, together with support for positive non-violent parenting. Mae'r dyddiad hwn hefyd yn nodi'r diwrnod pryd y mabwysiadodd y Cenhedloedd Unedig y Datganiad ar Hawliau'r Plentyn (1959) a Chonfensiwn y Cenhedloedd Unedig ar Hawliau'r Plentyn (1989).
