Active Woods - Drop In session at Cyfarthfa Park

 Our next Merthyr Monthly Drop In Session is on the Monday 10th January 2022 at Cyfarthfa Park (Top Entrance - inside the wild workshop men’s project) at 10am-12pm.

 Participants are going to split small logs and make tea light holders and spring flower planters.  If time allows, we will also carve a skulk of foxes!

We will have shelter, healthy snacks and a fire to keep everyone warm.  Suitable clothing for winter is needed as it is likely to be a cold one.

Tempo Time Credits

 Tempo Time Credits have been funded by Welsh Government to develop Tempo Time Credits Cymru across Wales over the next 3 years. We are reaching out to as many groups and community initiatives as possible to introduce ourselves and let you know what we do, and how you can become part of the Tempo Time Credit Cymru network. This Programme is fully funded by Welsh Government and is free for groups to join.

 This exciting new programme was launched on Monday 23rd November 2020 and will use Tempo Time Credits to tackle the impacts of poverty on communities and mobilise local social action through volunteering across Wales.

 I have attached some initial information for you and If you need any further information or if you have any questions, I will be happy to arrange a Teams call with you to go over everything in more detail.

Social Enterprise Development Officer

About this role: The UK Community Renewal Fund aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK, creating opportunities to trial new approaches and innovative ideas at the local level. The Fund aims to support our communities in piloting programmes and new approaches in preparation for the forthcoming Shared Prosperity Fund which will be launched by UK Government next year.

In partnership with Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and Tydfil Training Consortium Ltd, VAMT have a unique opportunity to introduce a new role which will be instrumental in driving forward the development of social enterprise in the local area as part of a wider Encouraging Enterprise Project.

The wider project will develop a number of entrepreneurial interventions (including social) across the width and breadth of Merthyr Tydfil, driven by an ethos of stimulating enterprise awareness and employment opportunities for local people and businesses.

Mental Health Programme Manager

About this role: The Cwm Taf Morgannwg Together for Mental Health Partnership Board (CTMT4MHPB) commissioned an independent review in Autumn 2020 to look at mental health Service User and Carer representation in the region following a change in health board boundaries. Two existing infrastructures were considered with stakeholders including current representatives, their host organisations, health board and local authority staff and public survey respondents. The review looked at the current Welsh Government policy direction and the regional operating context, also considering other related national and regional work and best practice examples, to develop a suggested regional model for future representation, engagement, and involvement.  The purpose of this role is to take forward the recommendations of the review.

To secure this great opportunity you will have: Proven experience of planning, leading and implementing successful programmes/projects, on time and within budget.  Building effective sustainable working relationships across public, private and third sector while managing teams/individuals.  You should be educated to degree level, or equivalent experience in programme management / community development / mental health.
