Community Litter Picking Hubs Re-open

Keep Wales Tidy’s community litter picking hubs have now re-opened all across Wales. They allow individuals, community groups and businesses to borrow litter picking equipment to clean up their local area, completely free.

Rates of litter have increased over the last year, becoming a large-scale issue here in Wales. The warm weather has meant we can all head out again to enjoy local nature and our coastal regions. However, the actions of a few have had a negative impact on visitors and local people’s enjoyment, ruining our beautiful views and with bins often full and overflowing.

Keep Wales Tidy aims to tackle the issue of litter head on, making it easier than ever to borrow equipment and take positive action to improve the community.

The growing network of hubs offer all the equipment needed to carry out a safe clean-up, including litter pickers, hi-vis vests, rubbish bags and hoops.

They have been set up by Keep Wales Tidy as part of their Caru Cymru initiative. Caru Cymru (a Welsh phrase meaning ‘Love Wales’) is an inclusive movement led by Keep Wales Tidy and local authority partners to eradicate litter and waste.
