Dormant Assets: A Community Wealth Fund for Wales?
A
new wave of dormant accounts funding will be coming on line within the next
three years. It could unlock over a billion pounds across the UK and tens of
millions for Wales. In England, a campaign has been launched to set up an
independent community wealth fund. Would this work for Wales? Help shape the
future direction. Come and find out more and discuss what our priorities should
be for the new assets.

New Funding Opportunity - Comic Relief Community Fund in Wales
Introducing Comic Relief Community Fund in Wales – An
easy-to-access pilot grant scheme for community groups in Wales.
Grants come in two levels:
Small Grants - £1,000 - £10,000
Organisational Growth Grants - £30,000 - £60,000
Comic Relief Community Fund Information
The application window is open from 22 July 2019 and the closing date is 31 October 2019.

· For organisations to carry out activity to make a strategic impact and increase their resilience
· Fitting in under one of Comic Relief’s four strategic themes:
Small Grants:
· £1,000 - £10,000
· Projects carrying out community led working to tackle a specific need or issue within their locality
· Fitting in under one of Comic Relief’s four strategic themes:
Grants come in two levels:
Small Grants - £1,000 - £10,000
Organisational Growth Grants - £30,000 - £60,000
Comic Relief wants to ensure that its funding reaches the
heart of Wales’ communities, by supporting community led action tailored to the
varied communities across Wales. Third Sector Support Wales (TSSW) has been
selected to administer grants on behalf of Comic Relief in Wales, ensuring a
reach to grassroots organisations.
During this Comic Relief pilot scheme there will be one
grant application window for organisations with an annual income of less than £250,000
per year.The application window is open from 22 July 2019 and the closing date is 31 October 2019.
The
earliest projects can begin is the 1 January 2020
Projects
should be completed by 31 March 2021.

Race Council Cymru are holding a Windrush and Black History Arts Event in the Engine House, Dowlais on Saturday 27th July. This event is incredibly important in giving a platform and a voice to black and minority ethnic individuals in Merthyr Tydfil.

Social Enterprise Assist Fund
SE Assist fund is affordable finance and localised support to
help social enterprises grow. The Fund is now open for applications until 27th

Successful applicants receive:
Eligibility:
· An interest free loan from £10,000 - £30,000 (with the potential to borrow more at 6.5%)
· Financial management support
· Peer support from a network of ambitious local social enterprises and more
- be based within Wales
- have a social impact
that addresses a local social or environmental need, in line with the
non-profit social enterprise definition set out above
- turnover less than
£500,000 pa (over the last three years) for the organisation, or specific
initiative, for which you are applying
- have borrowing powers as
defined in your constitution
- have, or be working
towards, a sustainable business model
- be seeking support for
organisational growth or sustainability
- have a clear need for
package of support that SE-Assist will provide
- outline how the loan
will be used and repaid
