Cwm Taf UHB are sourcing representatives - are you interested?

The All Wales Individual Patient Funding Requests (IPFR) policy was introduced in 2011 and its aim is to ensure there is a fair, transparent and consistent approach to decision making across Wales. Where a medicine or treatment has not been appraised or approved for use in the NHS in Wales, a clinician can apply for it to be made available under the IPFR process. This process allows access to treatments where there is clear evidence a patient will benefit because of exceptional clinical circumstances.

Following a ministerial review of the IPFR process in Wales, there is a requirement for each health board to recruit two lay representatives to its IPFR panel.  Each lay member will be required to fully participate in the IPFR panel discussions and will have voting rights.

If you would like to be considered for this role, please submit an expression of interest detailing how you fulfil the requirements of the role specification.  Please address this to:

Lynda Williams
Director of Nursing & Chair of the IPFR panel
Cwm Taf Local Health Board
Ynysmeurig House
Navigation Park
Abercynon
CF45 4SN

Expressions of interests must be received no later than Friday 21 October 2016.  Suitable candidates will be invited to attend an informal discussion with members of the IPFR panel in November 2016.

For further information, please contact Claire Tynan-Preece, Patient Flow Manager on 01443 744821 or claire.tynan-preece@wales.nhs.uk
