Twyn Community Hub provides both practical and activity
based support for the whole community of Merthyr. Quality nutritious daily
meals go out and wellbeing checks are performed by a dedicated team of staff
and volunteers to 150 – 220 people seven days a week.
One of their volunteers said : "The lady I support is 102 years old has lost her
sight and is having trouble with food and her emotions at the moment. I visit
her daily and we chat about old times in Merthyr Tydfil as she has vascular
dementia this always helps her to reminisce, we are aiming to support through
companionship and ensuring her basic needs are met – we eat together and this
seems to help her, and I must admit its helping me so much with realising
what’s important."
