Befriending Week
is all about celebrating the fantastic befriending organisations that we have
in Merthyr Tydfil. The Good Friendship group is one of these organisations,
here's some more information ..
They are based at
Dowlais Engine House and provide a warm, supportive group for people aged 50+
in the Merthyr area. They provide well needed contact, good will parcels and
newsletters delivered in person via a doorstep drop. 100% of recipients valued
not only the parcels but the human contact even behind visors and masks turning
up at a set time, as some said was the highlight of the day. Befriending is a
big part of the group role with its members. The group is now back meeting face
to face again at the Engine House and the Community Garden.
